Private AI for Canadian Businesses

Your AI. Your premises. Your control.

Private AI setup for Canadian businesses that want to keep sensitive work in-house.

Powerful Platform helps you plan and pilot a locally hosted AI assistant for approved business documents, internal knowledge and repetitive work. Start with one workflow, a defined data boundary and a clear answer on whether private AI, Microsoft Copilot or another Microsoft 365 automation route is the right fit.

Keep AI processing in-house

For workflows that need local control, we assess an on-premise design where the model, document processing, prompts, responses, indexes, logs and backups are included in the deployment plan.

No per-prompt cloud credits for local inference

A locally hosted model can run without a metered cloud inference API. Usage is limited by equipment capacity. Hardware, electricity, licences, maintenance and support still have costs.

Start with one useful workflow

Test private AI against a real task: finding answers in approved documents, preparing first drafts, summarizing internal material or reducing repetitive administration.

What your team can test first

  • Find internal knowledge: ask questions about approved procedures, policies and guides, with links back to source material.
  • Help employees get started: make onboarding instructions and recurring process notes easier to find.
  • Prepare routine work: create first drafts of summaries, internal responses and repeatable documents for a person to review.
  • Reuse what your business already knows: turn scattered reference documents into a searchable internal resource.

These are pilot use cases, not promised outcomes. AI can make mistakes, so important outputs still require human review.

Canadian data sovereignty starts with control

Canadian storage does not automatically mean Canadian AI processing. Microsoft documentation says Microsoft 365 Copilot queries from customers outside the EU may be processed in the US, EU or other regions, and Microsoft’s April 2026 roadmap update places Canadian local inferencing availability in 2027.

If your business has a strict local-processing requirement, an on-premise AI pilot gives you a practical route to evaluate: run the model and document processing on your equipment, define permitted connections and test the complete data boundary before using sensitive information.

We verify the boundary before making an in-house or Canada-only commitment. Remote support, external integrations, Microsoft 365 connectors, backups, logs and vendor terms must be assessed separately. Physical location alone does not establish legal compliance.

Why not just buy Microsoft Copilot?

Copilot may be the right tool for many teams. Powerful Platform helps you decide the right fit, then handles the implementation work your team would otherwise need to own: scoping, configuration, integrations, access testing, user training and handover.

Your questionWhat our implementation delivers
Which task is worth automating?A workflow map, current baseline and agreed success measures.
How does it fit our process?Configuration around your forms, document locations, approvals and systems.
Who can see which information?Access review and testing with representative user accounts.
Will staff actually use it?A walkthrough and short guide built around the real task.
Who handles issues?Documented handover and optional ongoing support.
How do we know it was worth it?Pilot results compared with the baseline, including running costs and remaining manual work.

How a private AI pilot works

  1. Readiness review: identify the workflow, information sensitivity, users, existing systems and budget.
  2. Deployment plan: document hardware or hosting needs, model licensing, operating costs and data flows.
  3. Focused assistant: configure one agreed document collection and a limited group of users. Custom model training is not assumed.
  4. Access and quality testing: test document boundaries, source links, answer quality and response speed against agreed examples.
  5. Training and handover: provide a user guide, administrator notes and recommendations for continuing, improving or stopping the pilot.

Scope, price and delivery dates are agreed before work begins. Hardware, licences, document cleanup, integrations and ongoing support are quoted separately where required.

Where your AI can run

At your premises

Best to explore when local processing, offline operation or direct infrastructure control is a firm requirement. Your business needs suitable equipment, maintenance and recovery arrangements.

In a Canadian hosting environment

A practical option when you want managed infrastructure. Data residency depends on the selected services, settings and complete data flow, including logs and backups.

Frequently asked questions

Does our data stay entirely in our office?

Only if the complete design supports that requirement. Model execution, document processing, search indexes, logs, backups and external connections must all be reviewed.

Is private AI automatically compliant with Canadian privacy laws?

No. Hosting location is one consideration. Your organization still needs appropriate handling, access controls, safeguards and retention practices.

Can it connect to SharePoint or Microsoft 365?

Yes, but carefully. SharePoint can be a source of approved documents, but Microsoft 365 remains a cloud service. Any connector must be scoped and tested so people receive only information they are allowed to access.

Can we start small?

Yes. Start with one workflow, one approved document collection and named pilot users. Expansion follows the evidence.
